SIM-Q MKII Insulation Monitoring Device
The SIM-Q MKII is particularly suitable for high-end monitoring of AC/DC networks characterized by high leakage capacitance. A low frequency (LF) version is available for thruster systems with 5-20Hz frequency variations.
The SIM-Q MKII uses a patented measuring method where a ±25 V DC voltage is superimposed to the monitored system. To eliminate influence from network capacitances and AC/DC components, the device performs an automatic measuring cycle that compensates for these factors.
Selectable Operation Modes
The SIM-Q MKII's ability to measure large capacitances results in long measurement cycles. To ensure optimal performance during fault-finding, three selectable modes are available:

Normal mode (IMD type: AC/DC) - Long measuring cycles (10-7,000 seconds) with immunity to disturbances. Ideal for standard monitoring applications.

Fast mode (IMD type: AC) - Short response time for fault location when multiple groups need switching. Does not compensate for capacitance and DC levels.

Test mode - Used for self-test of warning/relay function and set point adjustment. Includes rear-mounted adjustment knob for precise calibration.
